What makes 'hand block' printed fabrics unique?

Unlike today's more common digital printed fabrics, block printing involves skilled artists carving intricate patterns onto wooden blocks, which are dipped in ink or dye and stamped onto the fabrics. The process takes time and skill and the resulting fabrics ooze artistic character, perfectly imperfect, with no two block impressions being the same.   Pattern and colour irregularities are therefore not considered defects, they are the unique character to be expected from true artisan work.

Where are your products made?

Our hand block printed fabrics are sourced from India where they are designed and block printed by local artisans and crafts people. Our cushion covers are lovingly and meticulously sewn in beautiful Devonport, New Zealand. They are not made in a factory, they're made in our home.

 

Do you sell cushion inserts?

No, we currently do not sell cushion inserts but we hope to do so in the near future.

 

What cushion inserts do you recommend?

We always recommend a feather-filled inner, they are super comfortable and can be plumped up over and over again! For maximum plushness we recommend buying your inner a size up from your cushion cover, so for a 50x50cm cushion cover use a 55x55cm inner.

 

How do I care for my linen?

Your linens come pre washed. To best preserve your cushion covers, we recommend you dry clean only please. 

Linen is a natural fibre and is known to fade over time. To minimise fading, keep your linen out of direct sunlight.

How long until my order arrives?

Your order will be shipped within 1-3 business days unless stated otherwise. We will send you a tracking number once your order is shipped. Any delivery delays from our courier are not our responsibility. Our shipping policy can also be viewed on our checkout page.

 

Do you ship outside of New Zealand?

We currently do not have standard rates for offshore shipping, please contact us if you have a special request.
